Wiwitan is a traditional Javanese ritual offerings as an expression of thanks and gratitude to the earth as Sedulur Sikep and Dewi Sri (the goddess of rice) which has been growing rice and supply foods for people. 'Wiwitan' taken from words 'wiwit' which means 'the beginning', so begin to cut the paddy before harvest it.

Wiwitan adalah ritual persembahan tradisional Jawa sebagai wujud terima kasih dan rasa syukur kepada bumi sebagai sedulur sikep dan Dewi Sri (dewi padi) yang telah menumbuhkan padi yang ditanam sebelum panen. Disebut sebagai ‘wiwitan’ karena arti ‘wiwit’ adalah ‘mulai’, jadi memulai memotong padi sebelum panen diselenggarakan. Di dusun Malangrejo masih ada yang melakukan tradisi ini, namun hanya beberapa saja.
